İYİ Party MP Adnan Beker announced his resignation in a statement shared on his social media account.
"I THANK ALL MY FELLOW TRAVELERS"
Beker's post is as follows:
Throughout my life, I have adopted honesty and integrity as my principles. In every step I took and every path I embarked upon, I always said “my country's interests first, my nation's interests first.” My greatest dreams have always been for my country. This, of course, was only possible through hard work.
On this occasion,
We founded the İYİ Party together with our fellow travelers who came together from every part and every segment of our country. Since October 25, 2017, I have fought and worked with all my might, day and night, in every field for the success of the İYİ Party.
My Dear Turkish Nation and Esteemed Fellow Citizens of Ankara,
In order to voice the demands that came to me, especially from you, my valuable fellow citizens of Ankara and our tradespeople living in our city, as much as I could, and to fulfill and resolve them as much as possible, I was elected as a member of the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Council and Deputy Group Chairman of the İYİ Party with your favor in the 2019 Local Elections. Thank God, I performed my duty with great devotion.
During my four-year term, we hosted more than 200 thousand of our citizens and party members at our ABB İYİ Party Group Chairmanship. We took to the streets; we traveled our Ankara neighborhood by neighborhood, street by street, village by village. We touched upon the problems of our Ankara district by district.
In the May 14, 2023 General Elections, after leaving my position as Deputy Group Chairman, I became a parliamentary candidate from the 1st place in Ankara's 2nd District with a record within the party, receiving 3 thousand 632 votes in the primary election with the high favor of our İYİ Party members.
Together with our party members, fellow travelers, and volunteers, we carried out a breathless election campaign. We increased the İYİ Party's vote in my electoral district together.
We constantly met with our Non-Governmental Organizations, Tradesmen Unions, Village and Neighborhood Heads, and our youth. We voiced their demands under the roof of the TBMM; we submitted parliamentary questions, research motions, and legislative proposals.
Until now, I have worked tirelessly and without rest for the success of the İYİ Party, primarily to serve my valuable fellow citizens living in Ankara. I extend my thanks one by one to all my fellow travelers who walked with me during this process.
"I AM RESIGNING"
My Dear Turkish Nation and Esteemed Fellow Citizens,
Since I believe that I can no longer contribute further to my fellow citizens of Ankara and the Great Turkish Nation under the roof of the İYİ Party, I am resigning from the İYİ Party as of today.
Just as I have been in touch with all our citizens, especially my very valuable fellow citizens of Ankara, our İYİ Party District Chairs, administrators, members, volunteers, and all those who voted for the İYİ Party until today, my door and my phone will always be open from this day forward.
I will continue to serve our Great Turkish Nation and our Ankara with the same determination and belief as always.
WHAT HAPPENED?
In recent days, names such as Aytun Çıray, Bahadır Erdem, Durmuş Yılmaz, Cahit Kale, and Hüseyin Şensoy had also announced their resignations.
WITH MY RESPECTS TO THE PUBLIC
