The İYİ Party General Administrative Board (GİK) rejected the CHP's cooperation offer for the local elections by a majority vote.
Following the decision to enter the elections 'freely and independently', it has emerged that İYİ Party Organization President Buğra Kavuncu sent a letter to provincial and district presidencies.
According to the report by Cumhuriyet, the letter stated that “it is of great importance that any proposals for meetings or consultations regarding a future election alliance from the provincial and district presidencies of certain political parties be rejected clearly and unequivocally.”
Furthermore, it was alleged that Kavuncu gave similar instructions to district presidents in Ankara the previous day. Some İYİ Party provincial and district officials stated that the message was sent out of fear that “provincial organizations might engage in under-the-table cooperation among themselves for the local elections.”

Party members argued that the current candidates in metropolitan cities would win again in the March 31 elections and that voters would “continue the Nation Alliance at the ballot box.”
'WHO BENEFITS FROM SUCH AN OUTCOME?'
A party official, noting that Akşener did not even pay a “congratulatory” visit to Özel, yet Özel made efforts for cooperation, said, “Who benefits from producing such a result despite everything that has been done? Whoever I ask, I get the answer ‘It benefits the AKP.’ This is not in line with our founding purposes.”

Criticizing the poem Akşener read from the parliamentary podium, which was interpreted as a jab at ABB President Mansur Yavaş, party members commented, “It causes polarization.
