İYİ Party Sorgun District Presidency in Yozgat Head of Political Affairs Durak Kaya, along with the dismissed board members, held a press conference at the party building.
"WE HAVE RESIGNED WITH OVER 400 MEMBERS"
Announcing that he and the district administration, along with over 400 members, have resigned from the party, Kaya stated the following:
"We have resigned along with the district administration and over 400 members. The reason for our resignation was not explained by the Headquarters. In the general elections, despite there being an MHP deputy from Sorgun and an AK Party deputy from Sorgun, we achieved success by receiving 16.8 percent of the vote and increasing our vote share by 300 percent. After this election, we were dismissed by the Headquarters without any justification, in order to satisfy the personal ego of Prof. Dr. Taner Demirel. Our Minister Lütfullah Kayalar did not stand behind the organization here, and as the Sorgun district administration, we have resigned. There are resignations along with our 400-plus members, and the resignations are continuing."
