İYİ Party's response to 'cooperation': What has changed?

İYİ Party Deputy Chairman Şükrü Kuleyin answered questions from Mehmet Akif Ersoy on HaberTürk TV.

Touching upon the cooperation talks, Kuleyin said, "I stated my personal opinion as 'no' two months ago. What has changed in two months that I would say 'yes'? Did the dollar drop, or did something else happen?"

"THEY DID NOT DEEM MR. KILIÇDAROĞLU WORTHY OF THE CHAIRMANSHIP"

Kuleyin's statement is as follows:

"Our Chairwoman Meral Akşener was proven right. They did not deem Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, whom they deemed worthy of the presidency 6 months ago, worthy of the Republican People's Party Chairmanship; this is a contradiction. When we say change, we want to engage in principled politics.

We did not ask for the presidency. Our chairwoman explained this many times. For 3 and a half years, we traveled across Turkey step by step with our delegations. We did not engage in any political advertising. We asked after the well-being of our tradespeople. The İYİ Party's candidate was never Ekrem İmamoğlu or Mansur Yavaş. We only brought the nation's request to the table. And that was not accepted.

They visited us today, they are welcome. Our chairwoman will convey what was discussed to us on Monday, and we will hold a vote there. But if you are asking for my personal opinion, I am against the idea of an alliance. I respect the party's inclination regarding other decisions."

"COOPERATION IS VERY DIFFICULT"

Answering Mehmet Akif Ersoy's question, "Is there a possibility of 'cooperation' emerging?", Kuleyin replied, "It is very difficult, it is very difficult because we are very sad. Great injustices were done to our chairwoman. We do not forgive March 3-6. Great injustices were done to us."
