The Ministry, which announced that 6 heroes were martyred and 1 hero was wounded in the clash with terrorists, also stated that according to initial reports, 13 terrorists were neutralized in the clash.
With this statement from the Ministry, the number of martyrs in the last 24 hours has risen to 12.
IYI Party Parliamentary Group Deputy Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu called on the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to issue a joint declaration for the soldiers who were martyred in Operation Claw-Lock.
While the proposal submitted by Dervişoğlu was accepted by the MHP, AKP, and Saadet Party groups, the CHP and DEM Party rejected the proposal, requesting that it be postponed until next week for different reasons.
"WE WILL CALL THE ASSEMBLY FOR A GENERAL DEBATE"
Taking the floor in the General Assembly, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır said, "What we need to do is, we will call the Assembly for a general debate next week. Because it is not easy. Yes, a national day of mourning should be declared. Look, let's look at TRT, it is playing music. On the state channel today. When the King of Saudi Arabia dies, we declare a national day of mourning. 12 sons of the homeland died today. First, let's put these forward so society knows, but everyone must be sincere first regarding the declaration. This issue should be a common concern. If this action is used as material for election propaganda tomorrow or a month later on election stages with fake videos by the leaders of those who carried out this act, then it doesn't work. It doesn't work there. That is why we will meet with the necessary authorized bodies on Monday. We will call the Assembly for a general debate. We will demonstrate our sincerity on this issue. After that, we will make the statement as the Assembly."
Making a statement on the subject via his social media account X, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel announced that they would not sign any declaration bearing the signature of the AKP unless the government informs the political party groups and the TBMM through the Minister of National Defense.
"WE WILL NOT SIGN ANY DECLARATION BEARING THE AKP'S SIGNATURE"
Özel used the following expressions:
“The government must immediately inform the political party groups and the Assembly through the Minister of National Defense. We demand this information immediately regarding the worrying information circulating about the terrorist attack that took place, especially the number of martyrs. The safety of our soldiers and the condition of our wounded are our primary concerns. We remind those responsible of their duties regarding this matter with importance and urgency. I declare from here that; without this information being provided, without receiving answers to our questions, and without being convinced, we will not sign any declaration bearing the signature of the Justice and Development Party. Those who declared a national day of mourning upon the death of the King of Saudi Arabia do not think of declaring a national day of mourning today. I do not know if they will declare a national day of mourning, but our nation has declared its own mourning. Our condolences to all of us!”
