Erdoğan spoke at a joint press conference with Palestinian President Abbas. Erdoğan said, "The Netanyahu government and its accomplices in murder will be held accountable before the law and conscience."

Here are the highlights from the statements of AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan:

-Turkey has always stood by the Palestinian people. Gaza is at the top of our agenda. Nearly 32 thousand Palestinians have been martyred. 72 thousand Palestinians have been wounded. Israel is massacring the people of Gaza not only with hunger and thirst but also by raining bombs down on them. We are witnessing one of the greatest acts of barbarism of the last century. With the support of Western powers, the Netanyahu government is carrying out an explicit genocide.

-Nearly a thousand wounded are receiving treatment in our country. Netanyahu and his accomplices in murder will be held accountable for every drop of blood they have shed; Turkey continues to work for this. We have declared our position at the ICJ; Israel is being tried before the ICJ, but despite the provisional measures ordered, the Israeli administration continues to kill our brothers and sisters and massacre civilians while they wait in food lines. The biggest reason for this disregard for the law is the unlimited support given to Israel by European countries due to their own historical Holocaust attitudes.

-We have dispatched over 37 thousand tons of aid to the region. We have brought patients here for treatment. Work is underway for a field hospital in Gaza. We have increased the aid we provide to Palestine through the UN. No attention should be paid to Israel's efforts to discredit the agency with lies and slander. It has been understood that peace will not be permanent in the Middle East unless a fair solution is found to the Israel-Palestine issue.

-The usurpers who seize the lands of Palestinians, known as so-called settlers, are one of the biggest obstacles to a solution. Because of them, it is not possible to speak of geographical integrity. As Turkey, we have announced that we are ready to take responsibility within the framework of a guarantor system. We will continue our efforts. We are conveying our warnings regarding the prevention of provocations in the context of the month of Ramadan.

-We are also closely following the stages of achieving reconciliation among our Palestinian brothers and sisters. The best answer to be given is to achieve unity among Palestinians. I want to emphasize that we will continue to defend the Palestinian cause in the strongest way possible and support all efforts that promote the well-being of the Palestinian people.

Here are the highlights from Abbas's statements:

-We discussed what we can do to prevent the crimes of genocide and massacre that Israel is committing against our people. The state of Israel is directing all kinds of brutality. Attacks against sacred sites, both Muslim and Christian, continue. We are about to enter the month of Ramadan, and settlers are carrying out attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

-Palestine becoming a permanent member of the UN is something we desire. European states, in particular, must recognize Palestine. A consensus on the implementation of a roadmap is important. We value Turkey's role.

-We do not accept the displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza and the West Bank; Israel wants this. Gaza is an inseparable part of the Palestinian state. It is not possible to divide Gaza and Jerusalem from Palestine. Peace and security are only possible with the end of the Israeli occupation. Palestine has the right to be a country with East Jerusalem as its capital.
