The economic crisis, rising cost of living, and insufficient wages continue to leave citizens in a difficult situation. While citizens struggling to make ends meet continue to repeat their demands for a raise to the government, a call from Mustafa Destici, leader of the Great Unity Party (BBP), the junior partner of the ruling coalition, has drawn attention.
DESTİCİ CALLS FOR URGENT RAISE FOR RETIREES
BBP leader Mustafa Destici addressed the issues of economic crisis and inflation during his speech at his party's Kartal district congress. Drawing attention specifically to the living conditions of retirees, Destici emphasized that an urgent raise must be implemented.
Stating, "A 10,000 TL raise should be implemented for retirees in October without waiting for January," Destici also calculated the loss of rights retirees have experienced since July 2023. In his speech, Destici said the following:
"Everyone is complaining about the cost of living. From the very top of the state to the bottom, everyone is complaining. But for some reason, the high cost of living continues. And it is an unjustified high cost of living... The grievances of retirees must be addressed as soon as possible. Due to the grievances they have suffered since July 2023, there is a loss of rights of at least 10,000 TL. This must be eliminated as soon as possible. This change should be made in October without waiting for January."
