Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç's statement on 'Can Atalay': 'The reasoned decision has not been announced yet'

A 'violation of rights' ruling was issued today by the Constitutional Court (AYM) regarding the individual application of TİP Hatay MP Can Atalay. The first statement on the matter came from Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç. Tunç said, "The reasoned decision has not been announced yet. It is necessary to make a statement after seeing the decision."

TİP Hatay MP Can Atalay's individual application heard today at the Constitutional Court (AYM) resulted in a 'violation of rights' ruling. 

In a post on TİP's social media account, it was stated, "The people have won! The AYM has ruled that the imprisonment of our Hatay MP Can Atalay is a violation of rights," and added, "Now our friend, the people's deputy Can Atalay, must be released immediately!"

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç, in a statement made upon questions from journalists regarding the decision at his party's group meeting, used the following expressions: 

"The reasoned decision has not been announced yet. It is necessary to make a statement after seeing the decision. If there is a violation of rights ruling by the AYM, of course, action will be taken in accordance with that decision."
