The Karamollaoğlu era is coming to an end... Who will be the 'Chairman' of the Felicity Party?

Announcing in a live broadcast on TV5 that he would step down from his chairmanship due to health problems, Felicity Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu pointed to June 30 for an extraordinary congress.

Karamollaoğlu said, "Our congress date is not yet certain, but it could be June 30. Under normal circumstances, it must be held by October, but we do not want to delay it."

Bekir Sıtkı Şirin, a reporter for Milli Gazete known for his proximity to the Felicity Party, claimed that the name of Lütfi Yalman, who is currently a member of the Felicity Party's High Advisory Board, is being mentioned in the corridors for the new chairmanship.

In a post he shared on social media platform X, Şirin stated, "I must point out that the name most mentioned and most desired within the organization for the Felicity Party Chairmanship is Mr. Lütfi Yalman."

WHO IS LÜTFİ YALMAN?

He was born in 1956 in the village of Kızılöz in Konya. His father's name is Hüseyin, and his mother's name is Hatice. He completed primary school in Kızılöz village, and in 1974, he finished the 6th and 7th grades of the Karaman Imam Hatip High School in one year.

He is a graduate of the Konya Higher Islamic Institute (1978). During his student years, he was involved in boxing, wrestling, and judo. He holds Konya inter-collegiate first-place titles in all three disciplines.

He completed his Master's degree in Theology and Islamic Philosophy at the Konya Faculty of Theology.

He worked in the fields of Theology and Islamic Philosophy. He served as a teacher at Finike Republic High School, Urfa Imam Hatip High School, and Karaman Yeşildere High School; as Deputy Technical Principal and Chief Deputy Principal at the Konya School for the Deaf and Mute; as Deputy Mayor of Konya Karatay; as an administrator of the Higher Islamic Institute Student Association; as President of the Karatay Sports Club; as a volleyball and athletics referee; and as a scout leader.

In 1978, he was appointed as a Religious Culture and Ethics teacher at Antalya Finike Republic High School. During his teaching tenure at Finike High School, he was heavily involved in youth and educational activities in surrounding districts and towns.

In 1983, he was appointed as a teacher at Urfa Imam Hatip High School.

In 1994, he was transferred to teach at Konya-Karaman Yeşildere High School.

Starting from 1974, he served in various capacities in the MSP youth branches, the National Turkish Student Union (MTTB), the Akıncılar Association, and the administration of the Higher Islamic Institute Student Association.

At Yeşildere High School, in addition to Religious Culture and Ethics classes, he taught psychology, sociology, philosophy, and English.

In 1985, he was transferred to the Konya "School for the Deaf" and took on an administrative role after a while. Together with other administrators and teachers, he provided effective services to make workshops active so that students at the School for the Deaf could acquire a profession. He managed the sports organizations of the School for the Deaf. He made intense efforts and contributed to the employment of hearing-impaired children.

In 1991, he became the Deputy Mayor of Karatay. Together with Mustafa Özkafa, he was one of the founders of KAR-KENT, the first mass housing project established under the leadership of the municipality in Karatay.

In 1992, he became the Konya Branch President of the National Youth Foundation (MGV).

During his presidency of the foundation, he carried out multi-faceted activities together with his colleagues in the administration.

He pioneered, along with his friends, the construction of Anatolian schools, kindergartens, study centers, schools, dormitories, and Quran courses (in the Yaylapınar, Arif Bilge, and Aybahçe neighborhoods).

He made the greatest effort and took the lead in the salvation of the Muslims of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In 1994, he went to Bosnia to personally deliver and monitor the aid provided. He was always at the forefront regarding aid to oppressed geographies such as Chechnya, Iraq, and Palestine.

Lütfi Yalman was elected as a Konya Deputy for the Welfare Party (RP) in the 20th Term (24.12.1995 – 18.04.1999) and for the Virtue Party (FP) in the 21st Term (18.04.1999 – 03.11.2002), participating in legislative work in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Later, he joined the Felicity Party. Since 1996, he has served as a member of the General Administrative Board (GİK) in the RP, FP, and Felicity Party. He served as a Clerk Member of the TBMM Presidential Council. He was known as the deputy who submitted the most motions in the TBMM.

His work and efforts during his membership in the State Economic Enterprises (KİT) commission were the biggest contributors to the exposure of the first "profiteers."

He served two terms as a member of the TBMM Presidential Council. He served as an athletics referee in the Parliament Sports club.

He served as the "deputy and GİK member responsible for youth" in the RP, FP, and Felicity Party.

He founded the International Youth Forum (İYFO) and became the president of the World Muslim Youth Forum, which has members from approximately 80 countries.

Through this path, he led the way for Muslims in poor and impoverished countries to organize.

He led the establishment of the Cansuyu Charity Association.

Lütfi Yalman, the Felicity Party Deputy Chairman responsible for Political Affairs, is married and a father of 5 children. He speaks Arabic and English.
