Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu has reacted to the presidential pardon of Hacı Sülük, who was sentenced to life imprisonment after murdering Saadet Party poll observers Hasan Aktaş and İlyas Aktaş at the ballot box during the 2019 local elections.
In a statement on his social media account, Karamollaoğlu said, "A murderer who targeted democracy and the lives of two innocent people has been practically rewarded by being pardoned by the President."
Temel Karamollaoğlu's statement is as follows:
"The pardon by presidential decree of Hacı Sülük, who murdered poll observers Hasan Aktaş and İlyas Aktaş during the 2019 local elections, has trampled on the public conscience and cast a bloody shadow over democracy.
From the very first day, the case was conducted in a manner far from the rule of law, having been moved from Malatya to Kırşehir. Thanks to judges and prosecutors who adhered to professional ethics and the law, the murderer was sentenced to two life terms, but was released last year under the pretext of health problems. A murderer who targeted democracy and the lives of two innocent people has been practically rewarded by being pardoned by the President.
As the Saadet Party, we will continue our struggle with determination to change this mentality that evaluates murderers and victims based on their political stance."
2019 yılında yapılan yerel seçimlerde, sandık başındaki müşahitlerden Hasan Aktaş ve İlyas Aktaş'ı katleden Hacı Sülük'ün Cumhurbaşkanı kararıyla affedilmesi; mâşerî vicdanı ayaklar altına almış, demokrasiye kanlı bir gölge düşürmüştür.
