Kartalkaya on the agenda at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The investigation commission established following the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel in Kartalkaya, which resulted in the loss of 78 lives, will hold its first meeting on Tuesday, February 20. In addition to the regulations concerning the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and other legislative proposals brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly, this meeting is drawing significant attention. During the commission's first meeting, the investigation process regarding the fire and the commission's working procedures will be addressed in detail. Furthermore, the steps the commission will take in the future and how its schedule will be shaped will be determined.

A COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION IS EXPECTED 

Following the fire in Kartalkaya and the formation of the commission, authorities aim to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the causes of the fire and the responsibilities of the hotel management. The chair and members of the relevant commission will conduct various presentations and research to obtain more information about the hotel where the fire occurred and to determine responsibilities.

This meeting, to be held on Tuesday, will reveal more information regarding the incident, which caused a great stir in public opinion following the fire. In addition, the Petition Commission and the Human Rights Investigation Commission will continue to discuss additional regulations regarding the Kartalkaya fire and other similar cases during their meetings on Wednesday.

The TBMM will also continue its work with party group meetings on both days.
