Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship with a decision of absolute nullity, attended the "2nd Brother Nomads Yörük Event" held in Mersin.

In the program, which began with a Yörük migration march, Kılıçdaroğlu was accompanied by Union of Municipalities of Türkiye and Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer, Toroslar Mayor Abdurrahman Yıldız, Aydıncık Mayor Özkan Kılıçarpa, CHP Mersin Deputy Gülcan Kış, CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı, and party members.

Responding to questions from members of the press before the event, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed his pleasure in being with the Yörüks and made statements regarding his own family's origins:

"I am very happy to be with the Yörüks. My roots are also Yörük, after all. Because they migrated from Akşehir; they came to Türkiye from Khorasan, Iran, and settled in Akşehir, and from Akşehir, they settled in what is known today as Tunceli. Therefore, our origins are more or less the same."

Stating that he attended the program upon the invitation of Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer, Kılıçdaroğlu said that the march was not a foreign concept to him.

Speaking about the image he presented alongside Seçer and Yıldız, Kılıçdaroğlu gave a message of unity. Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that not only the CHP but all of Türkiye must be in unity against threats coming from both outside and inside:

"We love our country. We love the people of our country. We respect all people, regardless of their views, identity, or belief. We respect all of nature."
