Kılıçdaroğlu stated the following:
I have carried the legacy of our Great Leader Atatürk with honor until today. And today, with the decision made by our convention delegates, I am bidding farewell to the position of Chairman. I thank everyone who has supported our struggle until today. I congratulate our new Chairman, Özgür Özel, who has been elected to the position of Chairman, and wish him success.
