Kemal Okuyan responds to CHP's Deniz Yücel's 'George Orwell' example

Kemal Okuyan issued a 'George Orwell' reminder in response to CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel's statement referencing 'Animal Farm'.

CHP Spokesperson Deniz Yücel made a press statement following the Party Assembly meeting. TKP General Secretary Kemal Okuyan shared a post offering a 'George Orwell' reminder to Yücel, who had made his statement by referencing George Orwell's book 'Animal Farm'.

Speaking regarding the debates following CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's remark that 'Kurds are less equal in Turkey', Yücel used an example from 'George Orwell' and stated the following:

"We do not know what problem Mr. Erdoğan and Mr. Bahçeli have with the Kurds. ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.’ Look, this quote is from George Orwell's famous work ‘Animal Farm’, in which he criticizes the inequalities in the Soviet Union during the Stalin era with a striking language and story. We sign our names under our Chairman Mr. Özgür Özel's statement that ‘Kurds are less equal in Turkey’. Because we all know that the injustice and double standards that our Kurdish brothers and sisters, who are one of the essential elements of this country and these lands, have been subjected to for many years have increased even more during the AKP era. However, we also know who is more equal and who is less equal in the AKP era. To give a few examples of this: The capable and talented Minister of Trade, who purchased 9 million liras worth of disinfectant from his wife's company for his own ministry, is more equal than our other citizens in AKP's Turkey. Or the former mayor of Ankara, who was stated by his own companion to have sold Ankara to the parallel structure parcel by parcel, is more equal than other citizens in Erdoğan's Turkey. Or the deputy prime minister of the period, who praised the leader of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization from the parliamentary podium by saying ‘He is a value raised by this country and this nation’, is more equal than other citizens. For example, teachers who cannot be appointed are less equal than bureaucrats with salaries from 3 different sources. Or children forced to work at a young age are less equal than their peers who go to school and play games. We know, we see, and we experience that in AKP's Turkey, people are equal according to the Constitution, but those who lean on the AKP are more equal."

"WHY DO YOU FEEL THE NEED TO CLING TO ANTI-COMMUNISM EVEN WHILE POINTING OUT INEQUALITIES FACED BY KURDS?"

Kemal Okuyan responded by quoting Deniz Yücel's statement. 

Okuyan used the following expressions:

"I do not know if there is any benefit in reminding CHP spokesperson Deniz Yücel that George Orwell was an informant who handed over a list of progressive intellectuals to the state, and that the CIA's 'deep' intervention ensured that Animal Farm became so popular. After the CHP spokesperson said that the phrase 'all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others' belongs to Orwell, he said, 'It is a quote from the famous work titled 'Animal Farm', which criticizes the inequalities in the Soviet Union during the Stalin era with a striking language and story.' Why do you feel the need to cling to anti-communism even while pointing out the inequalities faced by Kurds?"
