Kılıçdaroğlu anxiety in CHP corridors: New departures expected

The new era that began in the CHP following the "absolute nullity" debates has also stirred up the corridors regarding intra-party balances. Following the establishment of the New Party by Özgür Özel and the 90 deputies accompanying him, the steps to be taken by both those remaining in the CHP and the new formation are being closely monitored.

According to the report in Nefes, whether Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who continues his duty as CHP Chairman by court order, will run for office again at the party congress has become one of the most critical topics within the party. It is alleged that in the event of Kılıçdaroğlu's candidacy, some deputies may leave the CHP.

CLAIMS OF RETURN AND NEW DEPARTURES

It is suggested in CHP corridors that contacts are being made with some deputies who moved to the New Party for their return, and that five deputies could join the CHP in the near future. It is reported that party aides are making the assessment, "The elders of this party are still in the CHP. They are standing here. They haven't gone anywhere."

On the New Party front, the expectation is different. New Party sources argue that some names who remain "in a dilemma" in the CHP will join their party over time. These sources state that the main body of the opposition is now the New Party and that there are deputies in the CHP who have not yet clarified their decision.

According to the report, Kılıçdaroğlu gave his aides the message that relations with those who remained in the CHP and those who left should be maintained. It was reported that Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Get along well with our friends. They are also friends we have worked with. Do not fail in greetings and respect. Keep your contacts good. When the time comes, everyone will understand what is what."

It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu used the expressions, "I have no such concern. We will talk about it among ourselves when the day comes. I will respect your decision," to the deputies who visited him regarding his candidacy.

The main concern within the CHP is the possible departures that could occur if Kılıçdaroğlu becomes a candidate for chairman again. It is being discussed in the corridors that in such a scenario, 10 to 15 more deputies could leave the CHP; some of these names might remain independent, while others might move to the New Party.

A CHP deputy who spoke to Nefes argued that if Kılıçdaroğlu runs for office, the party could face the risk of losing its TBMM group. The same deputy said, "If Mr. Kemal becomes a candidate, the majority of our friends may go to the New Party. If we also take into account our friends who are considering remaining independent, the CHP could fall below 20 deputies. This could lead to the CHP losing its TBMM group."

Another CHP deputy who thinks Kılıçdaroğlu should not be a candidate evaluated the picture within the party with harsher words. The deputy used the expressions, "The door of the party is about to be locked right now. We think that if Mr. Kemal becomes chairman again, the party's door will be closed completely."
