The tension that occurred during the evacuation of the CHP Headquarters by police intervention has brought a new debate to the political scene.
CHP Ankara Deputy Adnan Beker, who was targeted by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, responded to the accusations in a statement made via the social media platform X.
"THEY ARE SLANDERING" OUTBURST
Adnan Beker characterized Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's statements about him as "slander."
In his statement, Beker noted that he went to the CHP Headquarters with only two of his advisors, stating that their purpose was to support Özgür Özel, whom he described as the elected chairman.
Beker stated, "I did not enter the Republican People's Party with police intervention, tear gas, or batons. I attended with the applause and hopes of thousands of our party members at the group meeting."
"BUTLAN, WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE YOURSELF?"
Targeting Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in his statement, Beker said, "You, who ask me 'what are you doing there,' what are you doing there yourself?"
Stating that he went to the CHP Headquarters with only two of his advisors, Beker included the remarks, "I came to our Headquarters with only my 2 advisors; to support our elected Chairman, Mr. Özgür Özel."
"I WILL RESIGN FROM PARLIAMENT"
Reacting sharply to Kılıçdaroğlu's "militant" accusation, Beker called on the Ministry of Interior and relevant institutions.
In his statement, Beker said, "Let all authorized bodies, especially the Ministry of Interior, conduct the necessary investigation. If a third party is identified who caused the slightest unrest with me, I will resign from my parliamentary seat."
"IF HE CANNOT PROVE IT, HE SHOULD RESIGN"
Adnan Beker also argued that Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu should resign if he cannot prove his allegations.
Beker stated, "If such a person cannot be identified and Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu cannot prove his claim, I invite him to immediately resign from that seat he occupies due to this slander that has emerged."
WHAT DID KILIÇDAROĞLU SAY?
Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had targeted Adnan Beker while speaking to journalists about the process of the CHP Headquarters being evacuated by police intervention.
Kılıçdaroğlu had used the expressions, "What is Adnan Beker doing there, what is Adnan Beker's bus doing there? What are Adnan Beker's militants doing there? Most of them are not party members. Are they there to throw stones, to cause trouble, or to harm the CHP?"
In his statement, Kılıçdaroğlu also brought up the debates regarding Beker not voting in the presidential elections, saying, "What is a person who says they did not vote in the presidential election doing there? It is unacceptable, it is not right, it is not ethical."
