Kılıçdaroğlu's İmamoğlu instruction to candidates

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, speaking at the Republican People's Party (CHP) Party Assembly, reportedly told both candidates for the Istanbul Provincial Presidency to work to ensure Ekrem İmamoğlu wins the election again.

According to a report in the Cumhuriyet newspaper, the contentious provincial congresses were also discussed at the CHP Party Assembly meeting. It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu responded by saying, "We have given instructions to ensure these scenes do not happen again." It was stated that the Istanbul provincial congress was also discussed at the meeting. It was reported that Kılıçdaroğlu views both Özgür Çelik and Cemal Canpolat, who have announced their candidacies, impartially.

It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu said, "I called both candidates. I posed for a photo with both of them in the same place. I wished them both success. I told them, 'Do not be anyone's candidate, be the candidate of the CHP.' I told them that their main duty is to help Ekrem İmamoğlu win the election and to make the CHP the ruling power in Istanbul."

REACTION TO RELATIVES BEING ELECTED AS DELEGATES

It was reported that the issue of deputies' relatives being included on lists and elected as delegates at the party's Ankara congress was also criticized at the meeting. It was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu responded to these criticisms by saying, "I am uncomfortable with relatives being written on the lists." It was also reported that a request was made to refer CHP Group Deputy Chairman Burcu Köksal to the disciplinary board regarding her argument with Kastamonu deputy Hasan Baltacı at the party's Afyonkarahisar congress. While it was learned that the request was not put to a vote, it was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu criticized Köksal regarding the matter.
