Kılıçdaroğlu had signaled a 'candidacy'... Selvi: 'It was his own idea'

Hürriyet newspaper columnist Abdulkadir Selvi stated that former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu wants to turn the party's statute congress in September into an elective congress and become a candidate for chairman if he finds sufficient support, adding, "If you ask me 'what does Kılıçdaroğlu want to do,' I would say 'he is doing whatever is necessary to finish himself off,' and I wouldn't say anything else."

Noting that the CHP never exceeded the 25 percent vote threshold in any election it entered during the Kılıçdaroğlu era, while it received 38 percent of the vote in the first election it entered with Özgür Özel, Selvi stated, "I checked the CHP lobbies to see who is giving Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu this advice. It turns out no one is. These are Kılıçdaroğlu's own ideas. Even worse, Kılıçdaroğlu actually believes these things."
