Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who assumed the CHP leadership following a decision of absolute nullity, made evaluations regarding the resolution process in a statement at the CHP Headquarters. Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that the issue must be addressed within Turkey's own social reality, on the floor of Parliament, and together with the citizens.

Referring to the reports prepared by the CHP regarding the Kurdish issue in the past, Kılıçdaroğlu recalled that in the 1980s, a time when even the word "Kurd" was difficult to utter, the party advocated for the lifting of bans on the mother tongue. Kılıçdaroğlu stated that the SHP was subjected to harsh criticism and investigations during that period.

Stating that they also supported the first resolution process in 2013, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed that they had said at the time that the process should not be conducted in secret and pointed to the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) as the address for a solution. Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Finally, 13 years later, they have come to our proposal. The TBMM has been shown as the address for the solution."

According to Kılıçdaroğlu, the resolution process should be built on four main pillars:

  • - The disarmament and organizational dissolution of the terrorist organization.
  • - The implementation of democratic and legal reforms that encompass all of Turkey's citizens.
  • - The realization of a regional security arrangement covering the future of linked armed structures in Iraq and Syria.
  • - The creation of a sovereignty strategy that will limit the intervention of foreign powers through proxy structures.

Stating that the process should not be reduced solely to the topics of laying down arms and legislative preparation, Kılıçdaroğlu noted that the founding principles of the republic and the unitary structure must be taken as a basis for success.

Kılıçdaroğlu used the expressions, "The real question is this: What kind of Turkey will be built after the terror? Will the silencing of guns turn into a lasting peace on its own?" Arguing that the CHP bears a historical responsibility in this regard, Kılıçdaroğlu defined the process as a "process of crowning the Republic with democracy."
