CHP leader Özgür Özel has issued a call for a gathering today at 16:00.
Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu shared a post on social media regarding the incident.
'THE METAPHOR OF EXTERNAL FORCES...'
Kılıçdaroğlu stated the following:
"The judiciary and the executive have come under the command of a single person. Our legislative body has been rendered dysfunctional. All positions requiring merit have been filled with incompetent individuals who obey unlawful orders. Oversight mechanisms have been destroyed. Transparency and accountability have been eliminated. Opposition politicians, journalists, intellectuals, students, artists, and everyone who stands against them have been attempted to be intimidated through lawsuits and prison sentences. Society has been made passive in the climate of fear that has been created.
Immorality and corruption have become normalized and institutionalized.
Using the metaphor of 'external forces,' which they never stop talking about, they have established a mass that will remain loyal to them and a one-man regime. They have appointed so-called prosecutors who will strictly follow their instructions and carry out all kinds of lawlessness to key positions, and through them, they have had actions taken that disregard the will of the nation. We are facing such an immoral structure."
'THE ONLY WAY TO OUR SALVATION IS A RETURN TO THE PEOPLE'
"We are not facing just one person; we are facing a structure that has been taken over by imperial powers, holds all the power, and acts under their orders.
That is why I repeat it here: There is no negotiation, there is only struggle...
The only way for our salvation from the Palace and its useful apparatuses is: A return to the people (Sine-i Millet).
We do not accept any lawlessness or the absurdity of appointing trustees against a politician elected by the lawful votes of the people."
