Kurtulmuş and Özel attended... 'State Officials' at Anıtkabir, Erdoğan and Bahçeli absent!

State officials visited Anıtkabir for the 104th anniversary of the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

The ceremony was led by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, with Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and CHP leader Özgür Özel also in attendance.

The absence of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli from the Anıtkabir visit also drew attention.

WHY DOES ERDOĞAN NOT GO TO ANITKABİR ON APRIL 23?

President Erdoğan has not attended the April 23 ceremonies held at Anıtkabir in his capacity as President since 2014.

It is alleged that the reason Erdoğan does not attend the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day ceremonies at Anıtkabir during his presidency is the current ceremonial protocol.

According to protocol rules and traditions, state officials do not attend the commemoration ceremony at Anıtkabir on April 23 under the presidency of the President. According to tradition, April 23 celebrations begin with a visit to Anıtkabir by a delegation led by the Minister of National Education, followed by a visit to Anıtkabir by the TBMM delegation led by the Parliament Speaker.

NONE OF THEM ATTENDED

Furthermore, among the parties represented in the TBMM, only CHP leader Özgür Özel attended at the party leader level.

In addition to MHP leader Bahçeli; IYI Party leader Meral Akşener, YRP leader Fatih Erbakan, DEM Party Co-Chairs Tülay Hatimoğulları Oruç and Tuncer Bakırhan, Saadet Party Chairman Temel Karamollaoğlu, Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoğlu, DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, and HÜDA-PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu did not attend.
