Kütahya Delegate Süleyman Mutlu speaks to 12punto.com.tr: 'You make a deal 3 days before the election, what kind of contradiction is this?'

CHP Kütahya Delegate Süleyman Mutlu answered questions from 12punto.com.tr at the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP.

Mutlu stated the following:

"WHAT KIND OF CONTRADICTION IS THIS?"

Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu accused those who wanted change immediately after the election of betrayal. How do you evaluate this approach?

"This situation was not denied after the elections. The Republican People's Party is an official institution. The party has a spokesperson. Who is the spokesperson? Faik Öztrak. A statement came out saying, 'If I find someone without baggage, I will leave my place to them.' Some names close to Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu said that he did not use such an expression. Names in his close circle claimed that this statement was not made. Well, why didn't the spokesperson, Faik Öztrak, deny this? He could have said, 'There is no such thing.' The entire Republican People's Party is being accused. What does 'without baggage' mean? Look, it contradicts itself. I am the same age as Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu. When a person gets a little old, they can make mistakes. This is a huge party, a 100-year-old party. He sends a message from here to Demirtaş and Osman Kavala, who are in prison. You make a deal with Ümit Özdağ three days before the election. What kind of contradiction is this?"

Do you observe any backroom dealings or agreements within the party that are not reflected to the public? 

"THERE IS MUNICIPAL BARGAINING"

"We know this. There are municipalities that will be guaranteed. İzmir, Karşıyaka municipalities. Çankaya Municipality... There are municipalities in Istanbul. There is Beşiktaş Municipality, Kadıköy Municipality. Can't there be bargaining regarding these municipalities? Of course, we know this."

"I AM NOT KEMAL'S FRIEND OR ANYTHING"

"I did not go to the dinner given to the delegates yesterday. I am someone who spent a long time in prison and suffered torture during the September 12 period. I joined the administration of this party in 1973. For five years, this party has been no different from the AKP. I have never seen such a thing. The chairman selects the mayors. The chairman selects the municipal council members. The chairman selects the members of parliament. So, there is no difference from the AKP. I will say one more thing. The Chairman says; 'Primary elections will be held, a three-term rule will come.' My brother, when you hold a primary election, you don't need to bring a rule. If they are hardworking and capable, let them come for five terms. I am the head of the third-largest district in Kütahya. I established the women's branches. I brought out 10,500 votes. Now my grandchildren and children say, 'Quit, grandpa.' I am not Kemal's friend or anything..."
