Kuyu-16 operations in Elazığ: Organized crime gang dismantled

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, in a statement on his social media account, provided information that an organized crime group led by Ahmet Gülbasan was dismantled in the "Kuyu-16" operation carried out in Elazığ.
Stating that 15 suspects, including the ringleader, who were members of the organized crime group were captured within the scope of the operation, Yerlikaya said, "I want our dear nation to know that no matter how large they are, we will dismantle organized crime groups and deliver them to justice. Our operations will continue with determination both at dawn and at sunset."
Noting that the operation was carried out by the Elazığ Police Department under the coordination of the Elazığ Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the EGM KOM Department, Yerlikaya stated the following:
"It was determined that the suspects, who are members of the organized crime group, committed the crimes of establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes, extortion, threats, attempted intentional homicide, property damage, endangering general safety, inciting crime, assuming responsibility for a crime, escape of a convict or detainee, violation of Law No. 6136, and drug trafficking. As a result of the operations, 10 unlicensed pistols, 1 rifle, and a large number of cartridges were seized."
