A public lawsuit has been initiated against many people who participated in protests organized following the detention and arrest of CHP presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and his colleagues.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office made a statement regarding the matter. The statement indicated that a lawsuit has been filed against 819 people who participated in protests held in different cities following İmamoğlu's arrest. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that 278 people are currently in custody.
