Letter from trustee Gürsel Tekin to the Governor's Office: Governor Davut Gül passes the buck to Yerlikaya

Following the entry of Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as the trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, into the building in Sarıyer, hundreds of police officers raided the building and forced those inside to leave. Pepper spray was used even against deputies with parliamentary immunity, while Tekin entered the building with his team. During the intervention, CHP Şanlıurfa Deputy Mahmut Tanal was injured in the eye.

CHP CHANGED BUILDINGS

The CHP moved its Istanbul Provincial Headquarters in Sarıyer to the Bahçelievler District Presidency. The old provincial building in Sarıyer was designated as the office of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. CHP Secretary General Selin Sayek Böke notified the Istanbul Governor's Office of the move on September 8.

While the police have been keeping watch at the building where Özel's office is located for days, trustee Tekin has also been coming to the building every day with his team.

TRUSTEE'S LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

Trustee Gürsel Tekin, along with other trustees Zeki Şen and Erkan Narsap, sent a letter to the Governor's Office on September 9. According to the report by Halk TV, the letter argued that the building in Sarıyer was still the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters and described the news of the relocation as unfounded.

GOVERNOR PASSES THE BUCK TO THE MINISTRY

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated that there was "hesitation" between the notification from the CHP and the letter from the trustee, and requested that the matter be evaluated by Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya. The following statements were included in Gül's letter:

"A hesitation has arisen regarding the registration of the official address of the Republican People's Party Istanbul Provincial Presidency in the Political Parties Information System. I submit/request that the matter be evaluated by our Ministry and that our Governor's Office be informed of the result."
