Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar held a press conference in front of the municipal building.

Karalar reacted sharply to the bribery and bid-rigging operations conducted at the municipality. In his speech, where he used the phrase, "Nothing illegal ever happens in our municipalities," Karalar expressed his sadness, saying, "Coming with a TOMA (riot control vehicle) as if coming to a safe house was not appropriate."

"COMING WITH A TOMA WAS NOT APPROPRIATE"

CHP Deputy Chairmen Burhanettin Bulut, Erhan Adem, and CHP Adana Deputies supported Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar.

Karalar's statements are as follows:

"The state's police are also our police; they are trying to fulfill the instructions they have received. We are also trying to perform this important duty properly by protecting the nation's money. No one has the power to discredit our mayors. We are performing our duties with the awareness of being worthy of the public and worthy of Atatürk. Nothing illegal ever happens in our municipalities. There is no harm to the public. We did not come here to make money for others. Whatever the police and the prosecutor's office have requested from us, we have provided it completely, and we will continue to do so. There is nothing we are afraid of, and there never will be. I have been a mayor for 10 years, and there has never been an incident that I or my staff have been involved in. Coming with a TOMA to search a female colleague's office as if coming to a safe house was not appropriate."
