Mahmut Arıkan becomes the new Chairman of the Saadet Party

At the 9th Ordinary Grand Congress of the Saadet Party, Mahmut Arıkan was elected chairman after receiving the votes of 823 delegates.

The 9th Ordinary Grand Congress of the Saadet Party, held under the slogan "A livable Turkey is only possible with Saadet," took place at the Atatürk Sports Hall.

The Divan Board announced that Deputy Chairman and Kayseri MP Mahmut Arıkan became a candidate for the chairmanship with 741 delegate signatures, while Party Spokesperson and Istanbul MP Birol Aydın became a candidate with 221 delegate signatures. Former Chairman and High Advisory Board (YİK) member Mustafa Kamalak received 36 votes and did not become a candidate.

At the congress, Mahmut Arıkan and Birol Aydın competed for the chairmanship. Mahmut Arıkan was elected chairman after receiving the votes of 823 delegates.

WHO IS Mahmut Arıkan?

The new Chairman of the Saadet Party, Mahmut Arıkan, was born in Kayseri in 1977. He completed his primary and secondary education in Kayseri. He graduated from Erciyes University with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1999.

During his university years, he served as the School President of the National Youth Foundation (Milli Gençlik Vakfı), and since the founding of the Saadet Party, he has held positions as youth branch president, district president, and provincial president.

He has served in many non-governmental organizations, primarily MÜSİAD, ASKON, İMO, Cansuyu, and AGD.

Married and a father of three, Mahmut Arıkan has held positions as youth branch president, district president, and provincial president since the founding of the Saadet Party. In 2019, he was elected to the Saadet Party General Administrative Board and assumed the role of deputy chairman.

He was elected as a 28th Term Kayseri MP for the Saadet Party in the May 14, 2023 elections.

Arıkan became the new chairman of the Saadet Party by receiving the votes of 823 delegates at the general assembly held today.
