ORC Research has shared the results of its election poll conducted in Hatay. In the survey, participants were asked two alternative questions: one with Lütfü Savaş and one without Lütfü Savaş. According to the results, the CHP loses a significant amount of votes if Lütfü Savaş is nominated in Hatay.

Along with Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, Hatay is among the cities most curious about in the local elections.

Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, who was re-nominated by CHP leader Özgür Özel with the remark 'He gets incredible votes in rural areas', was protested by citizens on the anniversary of February 6.

ÖZEL POINTED TO POLLS AFTER THE REACTIONS

While reactions to Savaş's candidacy continue, Özgür Özel pointed to the polls and made the statement, "If we see something in the polls, we will intervene."

HATAY POLL FROM ORC RESEARCH

After Özel's statement on polls, the results of the latest election survey conducted in Hatay have emerged. ORC Research published the results of the survey it conducted with 1,970 people in Hatay between February 11-13.

It was observed that the vote share of the incumbent mayor Lütfü Savaş, who entered the 2019 elections as an alliance candidate, has dropped significantly.

In the survey, participants were asked the question "Which candidate will you vote for in the Metropolitan Municipality Mayor election?" with two different scenarios.

In the Hatay poll, the company presented voters with two alternatives: one with the incumbent Lütfü Savaş, whose candidacy is met with reactions, and one without him. It was observed that there is a serious difference between the rates.  

ORC Research asked voters about one of those names, Mustafa Sarıgül.

The results in the scenario with Lütfü Savaş were as follows:

AKP Mehmet Öntürk: 41.9 percent 

CHP Lütfü Savaş: 25.1 percent

TIP Gökhan Zan: 8.2 percent

In the scenario where Mustafa Sarıgül was nominated, the participants' preference was as follows;

AKP Mehmet Öntürk: 37.9 percent

CHP Mustafa Sarıgül: 36 percent

TIP Gökhan Zan: 5.2 percent
