Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş announced that they have implemented a 70 percent raise for staff salaries as of January 2024.
In a post on his X (Twitter) account, Yavaş recalled that they had previously implemented a 45 percent increase last January and a 36 percent increase in July, noting that they are happy to have provided a cumulative raise of 235 percent in one year:
"In the new term, we will continue to be '6 Million as One Heart' and will continue to serve our city with dedication alongside our colleagues."
We are happy to have provided a cumulative raise of 235% in one year, with a 45% increase in January 2023, 36% in July, and 70% in January 2024 for staff salaries.
