Mansur Yavaş points to bank accounts this time: 'He took it all the way back to Beypazarı'

Yavaş attended the opening ceremony of the "Ulus 100th Year Square," which was implemented by the ABB as part of the "Ulus Historical City Renewal and Opening to Tourism Project."

Addressing citizens at the ceremony, Yavaş said that the Ulus region holds great importance for both the Republican era and previous historical periods.

Mansur Yavaş noted that if the results of a ground-penetrating radar survey to be conducted under the surface of Ulus Square are positive, they have plans to move all traffic underground.

Stating that the square, which has a total area of 8 thousand square meters, will provide multi-story parking services and that 300 trees of different species have been planted, Yavaş expressed that the square will be a meeting point for cultures.

Providing information that they completed the project at a cost of 161 million liras, Yavaş went on to describe the projects and restorations they have carried out for Ulus during his 5-year term.

Stating that all their transactions are transparent and that he has declared his assets, Yavaş spoke as follows:

"Our rivals have also started to declare theirs, but there is a lot of speculation. From the time I first served as mayor in Beypazarı in 1999 until today, all my bank accounts are open to inspection; I have nothing to hide from anyone. 

Public officials should be like this. They should declare their assets not just when they start their term, but when they leave it. This covers all mayors serving in Turkey. However, unless this is the case, it is impossible to prevent income inequality, poverty, and destitution among people. Only in this way will corruption and waste be eliminated."
