İYİ Party Ankara Provincial Chair Faruk Köylüoğlu and the Provincial Board of Directors have submitted their resignations to the Headquarters.

Regarding the decision to resign, Köylüoğlu stated, "Following the decision to enter the local elections in all 81 provinces without any cooperation, and having expressed our reservations regarding Ankara, our resignation from our duties is inevitable as our view on the necessity of cooperation contradicts that of our party management."

Köylüoğlu included the following statements in his resignation letter:

"I am a member of a patriotic family, born right in the middle of a democratic tradition that has dedicated itself to developing Turkey. Throughout my life, I have fought with all my existence to uphold this honor without deviating from the values I was raised with.

In my role as İYİ Party Ankara Provincial Chair, which I began with the approval of our Chairperson, Ms. Meral AKŞENER, I fought a great battle alongside my fellow travelers and believed in our cause; we thought our country needed to believe in this hope; and we continue to serve that same hope.

Our love for Ankara stands above all our other affiliations. Because Ankara is the city of foundation, liberation, and hope; Ankara is the city of our honor; Ankara is the city where the foundations of Turkish democracy were laid. Having our capital in the right hands and being managed correctly means Turkey is being managed correctly. We worked day and night for this purpose and had no ulterior motives.

Together with the fellow travelers with whom I started this duty, we spoke the truths we believed in without hesitation for the sake of our cause; we were always open and clear. Every moment I have spent with all the friends I have walked this path with until today is very precious, and the effort we put in is very valuable. All the effort we gave for our cause is rightfully earned.

Following the decision taken by our party's General Administrative Board to enter the local elections in all 81 provinces without any cooperation, and having expressed our reservations regarding Ankara, our resignation from our duties is inevitable as our view on the necessity of cooperation contradicts that of our party management.

Positions and titles have no importance for us. We performed our duty with honor; we are moving forward on the path we believe in with honor. Together with all my fellow travelers, we will continue to work with a love for Ankara and continue to pay our debt to this city as long as we live.

In this regard, I respectfully announce to the public that I have resigned as of today from my position as İYİ Party Ankara Provincial Chair, which I took over on January 29, 2023. I would like to thank my fellow party members with whom I walked this path during this 9-month period and with whom I was honored to work."
