Mansur Yavaş supports İmamoğlu's reaction to 'insults'! 'His justified demand must be heeded'

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu reacted to insults directed at President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his family. Making a statement via his social media account, İmamoğlu said, "I condemn the insults directed at the President's mother with all my heart" and issued a call to the prosecutor's office.

In his statement on the X social media platform, İmamoğlu said, "I am facing one of the greatest injustices our political history has ever seen. Of course, we will fight against the March 19 coup using every legitimate means. However, even for this coup, my heart cannot accept insults being showered upon our mothers, whom I hold sacred like bread, water, and air. I condemn the insults directed at the President's mother with all my heart, to the very end. On this occasion, I once again wish God's mercy upon her. I also invite the prosecutor's office to take action regarding the individuals who are taking advantage of our being in prison to make immoral posts about my mother, my wife, and my family. Those who open investigations ex officio and at jet speed on every subject look for a place to hide when it comes to our family. When we come to power, we will not do to you what you have done to us. Justice will be everyone's guarantee, the law will ensure everyone's life and property security, and no one will be able to reach out to anyone else's property, honor, dignity, or integrity."

Quoting İmamoğlu's post, ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş said, "Our Mayor Ekrem's justified demand must be heeded." 

Yavaş used the following expressions in his post:

"Our Mayor Ekrem's justified demand must be heeded. Targeting a person's mother, wife, or family fits neither politics nor humanity. I invite prosecutors to take action in the face of the immoral posts made against our Mayor's family."
