A decision for mass resignation has been taken at the CHP Keşan District Organization in Edirne. CHP Keşan District Chair Anıl Çakır announced that he, along with the district administration, has resigned from his post and party membership.
According to Çakır's statement, in addition to the district administration, the women's branch and youth branch administrations will also leave the CHP to join the YENİ Party.
Speaking at the party building, Çakır stated that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stands with the arrested mayors and the elected bodies of the organization. Çakır said, "I do not accept surrendering the legitimacy we won at the ballot box to judicial conspiracies and government-directed 'nullity' decisions."
In his statement, Çakır criticized dismissals, appointments, and an "anti-democratic mindset," expressing that he could not remain silent against this process. Çakır announced that he has stepped down from the Keşan District Chairmanship, a position he held for two terms, along with the members of the district executive board.
Çakır also emphasized that his commitment to the principles and revolutions of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and to the founding values of the Republic and the CHP, will continue.
