Mehmet Metiner names his pick for AKP's Istanbul mayoral candidate!

Former AKP MP Mehmet Metiner has revealed the name the party organization favors for the AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidacy in a post on his social media account.

As the local elections approach, political parties continue their preparations. There is significant curiosity regarding which name the AKP will nominate to win back the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which it lost in 2019.

It has been frequently discussed in recent months that two names stand out for the AKP's IMM candidacy. One of these is Esenler Mayor Tevfik Göksu, while the other is former Minister Murat Kurum. It is known that supporters of both individuals are conducting lobbying efforts within the party.

METİNER POINTS TO TEVFİK GÖKSU

Former AKP MP Mehmet Metiner, who made a post on the subject, has chosen his side regarding his party's IMM candidacy.

Stating that he wanted to draw attention to the two names, Metiner claimed that the candidate in the hearts of the organization is Tevfik Göksu.

Mehmet Metiner stated on his social media account, "Who could be the AK Party's Metropolitan mayoral candidate in Istanbul? This is the topic everyone is curious about. Let me draw attention to two names: M. Tevfik Göksu and Murat Kurum. In my opinion, the candidate in the heart of the organization is M. Tevfik Göksu. That is all for now."

 

In his next post, Metiner wrote that two criteria should be considered in the candidate selection process. Metiner said, "The organization's approval must be secured. If there is no approval from the organization, there will be no success. If you are not in the heart of the public, it is useless no matter what the organization does. It cannot happen against the will of the public and the organization."

Metiner's post is as follows:

"Pay attention to 2 criteria in AK Party candidate selection!

- The heart of the organization.

- The heart of the public.

The public should be asked directly.

The organization's approval must be secured.

If there is no approval from the organization, there will be no success.

If you are not in the heart of the public, it is useless no matter what the organization does.
