Meral Akşener: 'Postponing the call does not befit our Veteran Parliament'

İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener made statements regarding the joint declaration signed in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM).

İYİ Party Parliamentary Group Deputy Chair Müsavat Dervişoğlu called on the TBMM to issue a joint declaration for the soldiers who were martyred in the Operation Claw-Lock.

DECLARATION SIGNED

While the proposal submitted by Dervişoğlu was accepted by the MHP, AKP, and Saadet Party groups, the CHP and DEM Party rejected the proposal, requesting that it be postponed until next week for various reasons.

In the declaration signed by the AKP, MHP, İYİ Party, and Saadet Party in the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM), the attacks by the PKK terrorist organization were condemned, stating, "Terror and violence will never reach their goal."

MESSAGE FROM AKŞENER

İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener, following the signing of the joint declaration in the TBMM, stated, "Take a step not to fuel the fire in our nation's heart, but to extinguish it."

"ACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ETIQUETTE, DECENCY, AND SERIOUSNESS OF OUR STATE"

Akşener's statement is as follows:

"Losing 12 of our children as martyrs within 24 hours is a national issue and a national tragedy. Therefore, it is the national mourning of the Turkish Nation. It is unacceptable to us that mourning, which can be declared immediately even when the King of the Saudis dies, is begrudged to our children today. In such an important and painful event, the postponement of the call made by our İYİ Party TBMM Group for a joint statement does not befit our Veteran Parliament, which is the voice of our nation's conscience.

I am making a call here to the government and the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye: Immediately fulfill your duty to protect the will, conscience, rights, and law of the Turkish nation. Act in accordance with the etiquette, decency, and seriousness of our state. Take a step not to fuel the fire in our nation's heart, but to extinguish it.

In short; do what befits the Republic of Türkiye!"
