Meral Danış Beştaş shares their position on the ballot with a nod to Bahçeli

DEM Party IMM Candidate Meral Danış Beştaş, in her statement regarding their position on the ballot, made a reference to MHP leader Bahçeli's famous "makes 40" remark, saying, "Like politicians who are experts at calculation, we say it straight without multiplying, adding, or dividing."

According to information shared by the YSK, a ballot paper approximately 1 meter long awaits Istanbul residents in the election. 22 parties and 27 independent candidates will compete for Istanbul.

"WE HAVE TAKEN IT, WE HAVE ACCEPTED IT 777"

Sharing her party's ballot position, Meral Danış Beştaş made a statement referencing the words Devlet Bahçeli said for his party's 40th anniversary in 2009.

Beştaş said, "Like politicians who are experts at calculation, we say it straight without multiplying, adding, or dividing. There are 7 layers of heaven and earth, a week has 7 days, the world was filled with life in 7 days. And for the 7-hilled Istanbul, our place on the ballot is 7. Is this a coincidence too! We have taken it, we have accepted it 777."

BAHÇELİ'S FAMOUS CALCULATION

In a speech he gave for his party's 40th anniversary in 2009, Bahçeli had said, "When writing 2009, there are two zeros. You deleted the zero next to the nine. 9 remains. There is another 0 at the end of the 2. You deleted that too, 2 remains. Add them up, what does it make: 11. You also deleted the two zeros inside 2009. What is left? It makes 40. And the 40th anniversary of the MHP..."

Attending an iftar program organized by the MHP Istanbul provincial presidency, Bahçeli, who said "I am a man of calculation," had stated the following:

"There are three regions in Istanbul. The total number of deputies is 98. Nine plus eight: 17. If today is May 17, as you all know, it is the Night of Power (Kadir Gecesi). Is this a coincidence?"
