Message from Kılıçdaroğlu to Tufan Erhürman

In the presidential elections held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Republican Turkish Party leader Tufan Erhürman won the majority of the votes and was elected as the new president. Former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu published a congratulatory message for Erhürman.

The Turkish Cypriot people went to the polls to determine their ninth president. According to the unofficial results announced by the Supreme Election Board, Tufan Erhürman won the election by receiving 62.76 percent of the votes. Independent candidate Ersin Tatar remained at 35.81 percent. The voter turnout for the election was 64.87 percent.

Following the election results, Erhürman stated that foreign policy would be conducted in close cooperation with Turkey and emphasized that no one should have any doubts regarding this matter.

CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE FROM KILIÇDAROĞLU

Former Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu congratulated Tufan Erhürman on his election victory. In his message, Kılıçdaroğlu expressed his satisfaction with Erhürman's firm emphasis on the historical ties between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, as well as their future cooperation. He concluded his message with the words, "There is no Cyprus without Turkey, and no Turkey without Cyprus."
