There are only a few days left until the local elections. Istanbul is at the top of the list of cities where the outcome of these critical elections is most anticipated.
Murat Kurum, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate for the People's Alliance, answered questions from Ahmet Hakan on the CNN Türk channel, known for its proximity to the government.
Speaking on the program "Tarafsız Bölge" (Neutral Zone), Kurum addressed the voters of the New Welfare Party (YRP), which decided to enter the elections with its own candidates after closing its doors to an alliance with the AKP.
In response to Hakan's question, "What message would you like to give to voters who will cast strategic votes and to undecided voters?", Kurum stated that the local election will be a vote on services, works, and projects related to solving Istanbul's problems, and that voters should cast their ballots by comparing those who have been making excuses for 5 years with those who have been providing services across 81 provinces.
Responding to the question, "How will you make the votes that would go to the New Welfare Party strategic and ensure they turn toward you? What message would you like to give to New Welfare Party voters?", Kurum said, "The voters who know the CHP's municipal approach best are the New Welfare Party voters. They have not suffered as much from any other municipal management as they have from this one. They know this suffering best."
