Continuing his political contacts, Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ made notable statements during his visit to the Turkish Tribes Confederation. Özdağ met with the Confederation's Chairman, Nihat Kula.
“LET US COME TOGETHER WITH NATIONALIST PARTIES”
Speaking during the visit, Özdağ stated that there should be joint action with nationalist parties, saying, "While Devlet Bahçeli and Abdullah Öcalan are arm in arm, why should we not come together with nationalist parties? We cannot explain this to history. We cannot explain this to our children. We cannot explain this to our grandchildren. That is why we are ready. Our door is open," he stated.
MESSAGE OF ALLIANCE WITH İYİ PARTY
In an interview he previously gave to T24, Özdağ had expressed that they were open to an alliance with the İYİ Party. Stating that the bases of both parties have expectations in the same direction regarding this issue, Özdağ said, "We are open to an alliance with the İYİ Party. The base of both parties wants an alliance. This could be the most natural alliance in Turkish politics."
“TWO AND A HALF PARTIES” ASSESSMENT
Touching upon political assessments made regarding the presidential system, Özdağ drew attention to comments that politics in Turkey is narrowing. Claiming that an "Öcalan commission" report would come to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Özdağ made assessments regarding constitutional amendments, the release of prisoners, and amnesty debates.
In his statements, Özdağ also touched upon the judicial processes conducted against the Republican People's Party (CHP) and Ekrem İmamoğlu, stating that "enemy criminal law" is being applied.
