Message of support from Turkey for the 'integration' agreement in Syria

The Ceasefire and Full Integration Agreement, announced in Syria through a statement by the jihadist group leader Jolani, has resonated widely on the international agenda. In an assessment regarding the matter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey announced that they welcome developments that will contribute to the unity and integrity of Syria.

The Ministry expressed its hope that the agreement, implemented under the leadership of President Ahmed Shara, will contribute to the security of Syria as well as its neighboring countries. The statement included the following: "We hope that efforts toward establishing stability and security in the country, based on Syria's territorial integrity and unity, will be advanced urgently and effectively. We hope that the agreement will contribute to the security and peace of the entire region, especially Syria's neighbors, as well as the Syrian people."

Turkey pointed out that in the new era that began on December 8, 2024, the permanence of the peaceful environment in the country requires an approach that prioritizes social reconciliation and integration. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' assessment included the statement: "The new era that began in Syria on December 8, 2024, which constitutes an exceptional opportunity for the country to achieve a prosperous future, is passing through a critical stage as of today. With the realization of the facts on the ground, we hope that it has been fully understood by all groups and individuals in the country that Syria's future lies not in terrorism and division, but in unity, cohesion, and integration."
