Scathing statement from MHP and Ülkü Ocakları against Mansur Yavaş!

As the countdown to the local elections continues, harsh statements against the CHP have come from the People's Alliance partners, the MHP and Ülkü Ocakları.

MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın accused Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, whom the CHP has re-nominated, of collaborating with the PKK. Claiming that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş has also failed to deliver services, Yalçın said, "İmamoğlu Ek-DEM and Yavaş Mansur will get their comeuppance."

Following Yalçın, a similar statement came from Ülkü Ocakları Chairman Ahmet Yiğit Yıldırım. In a written statement, Yıldırım targeted Yavaş and the DEM Party. Using accusatory language regarding the 'urban consensus,' Yıldırım said, "When we look at recent developments, we are witnessing a sinister attempt by a dark formation called 'urban consensus,' which includes sworn enemies of Turks and Turkey, to infiltrate municipalities. These individuals, who have become useful tools for separatists by marketing themselves as nationalists and patriots, and who are products of the 'urban consensus' that carries water to the mill of treason, have nothing to do with our sacred cause, our ideal, and Turkish nationalism, nor can they ever."

"MANSUR YAVAŞ AND HIS PROTEGÉS CAN NEVER BE TURKISH NATIONALISTS"

Yıldırım continued his statement as follows:

"Mansur Yavaş and his protégés can never be, and will never be, Turkish nationalists. After being elected with the votes of separatists, Mansur Yavaş, who has spent his 5 years in Ankara without services or projects, can only be 'Comrade Mansur,' a friend of the United Kingdom. He is none other than Mansur Yavaş, who, following Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu—who had not the slightest objection to the vile CHP-PKK relationship for years and even said, 'I will bring the local autonomy charter'—has stated, 'I am in favor of financial autonomy in municipalities, which is the biggest demand of the terrorist organization PKK. You determine the autonomy of local administrations primarily by making them financially autonomous.'"

Calling someone like Mansur Yavaş a nationalist and a patriot is an insult to the Turkish nation and state. The candidate of the nationalist-idealist movement in Ankara is clear; it is Mr. Turgut Altınok. The heart, prayers, and votes of every one of my fellow idealists in Ankara, who are loyal to their leader, their cause, and their organization, are with the valuable candidate of the People's Alliance, Mr. Turgut Altınok. I believe that the March 31 elections in our capital, Ankara, will result not in the victory of those who have linked arms with terrorist organizations and are 'DEM-ing' under the name of 'urban consensus,' but in the victory of the People who believe in the goal of the Turkish and Turkey Century."

SLANDER AT AN IFTAR DINNER...

MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir, in his speech at a program organized by the Ülkü Ocakları Talas District Presidency at the Kayseri University Congress and Culture Center, targeted Yavaş and said:

"When you look at it, the fact that some metropolitan municipalities have been managed by the CHP and the political extensions of the terrorist organization it walks with since the 2019 local elections may have emboldened some. When you look at Ankara, we have observed that another disgraceful understanding of municipalism has prevailed there during this 5-year period. Along with all this, the image that should be condemned and reflects a disgraceful understanding is that those who claim to have been idealists in their past are now collaborating with the political extensions of the PKK terrorist organization in Ankara. We say it once again from here: There is no such thing as an old or new idealist. Those who link arms and collaborate with the political extensions of a terrorist organization cannot even be considered men, let alone idealists."
