The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) requested the cancellation of the election or a recount of the votes in Kütahya, where the CHP won in the March 31 Local Elections. The AKP, on the other hand, filed an application for the recount of invalid votes.

Evaluating the objections, the District Election Board rejected the MHP's objections, while deciding to recount the votes deemed invalid in 125 ballot boxes identified by the AKP in its report. Accordingly, the counting process for the invalid votes in the 125 ballot boxes will be repeated.

In the March 31 local elections in Kütahya, CHP candidate Eyüp Kahveci came in first with 29.25 percent and 40,712 votes, MHP candidate Alim Işık came in second with 29.25 percent and 40,110 votes, and AKP candidate Kamil Saraçoğlu came in third with 27.71 percent and 37,992 votes.
