MHP had filed an objection: YSK issues 'Kütahya' decision

The Supreme Election Council continues to review objections regarding the March 31 elections.

The Council addressed 22 applications today.

The YSK rejected all of the objections, including the application filed by the MHP regarding the Kütahya Municipality elections.

OBJECTION REJECTED

In the March 31 local elections in Kütahya, where 137 thousand 111 votes were counted as valid and 5 thousand 659 as invalid, CHP candidate Eyüp Kahveci received 40 thousand 712 votes, while MHP candidate Alim Işık received 40 thousand 110 votes.

As a result of the recount conducted upon objection, CHP candidate Kahveci remained in the lead.

With the counting of invalid votes, the vote count for MHP candidate Alim Işık increased by 58, and the vote count for CHP candidate Eyüp Kahveci increased by 27.

The MHP subsequently filed an application with the Supreme Election Council (YSK), alleging that irregularities were detected in 275 of the 549 ballot boxes.

With the decision it issued today, the YSK rejected the MHP's objection.
