MHP leader Bahçeli: We will stand against anyone who tries to use Turkish sports for their dirty goals and desires

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli released a message on his social media account for the new year. Bahçeli stated that they have concluded 2023, which holds a firm and exceptional place in Turkish history as the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, and that they are entering a new year with fresh hopes and pure excitement, adding: "In the 365 days that have passed, many events, both bitter and sweet, have occurred. At times we were tested by disasters, and at times we leaped forward with the blessed goals of the new century. At times we dealt with black propaganda campaigns, and at times we thwarted the games of humiliation and darkness. The Turkish nation and the Republic of Turkey have reached these days by overcoming many difficulties and tough obstacles. Thankfully, the founding philosophy of the Republic and the founding principles and foundations of our state have formed the basis of a new Turkish century with the inspiration and will of 100 years ago, without showing any deviation, without receiving any wounds, and without being trapped in any destruction or provocation."

Stating that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is the common value of the Turkish nation, the symbol of honor, and the eternal founder of the Republic of Turkey, Bahçeli said, "His permanent works and legacies, which he built and revived through a tremendous struggle, will be kept alive more strongly, and exploiters will certainly not be given an opportunity. Dear Atatürk is a high-ranking personality who has been attributed to the Turkish nation and Turkish history. Those who try to create polarization through his name and memories will be disappointed in 2024."

Noting that the Republic of Turkey is a national and unitary state, Bahçeli said, "The indivisible integrity of the state with its country and nation is before and above all kinds of political deliberation and consideration. The final verdict was given on October 29, 1923, and was reaffirmed on October 29, 2023. There is no such thing as turning back from this decision. Therefore, those with evil and ominous intentions must reconsider their dark calculations. Otherwise, the weight of the price to be paid will increase directly."

"I especially want it to be known that we will continue to stand firmly and with determination in 2024 against anyone or any group that invests in provocation in every area of life, that scratches our national and spiritual sensitivities at the cost of wounding them, and especially those who are constantly active in trying to use Turkish sports for their dirty goals and desires, and whichever circles are pursuing move after move in this context. With these feelings and thoughts, I pray to Allah for mercy for our brothers and sisters who lost their lives in the earthquake, in the fight against terrorism, in Gaza, and as a result of all kinds of diseases and disasters, and I say may we have your condolences. I celebrate the new year of our dear nation, the Turkish-Islamic world, and all humanity thirsty for peace, tranquility, and stability, and I sincerely wish that the march of the Turkish and Turkey Century gains speed and depth in 2024."
