MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli: CHP and DEM nominating separate candidates is a devious game

Speaking in Ankara, Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli commented on the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) fielding a candidate in Istanbul, stating, "The 'DEM-infused' CHP is chaotic and full of infighting. The fact that the CHP and DEM are nominating separate candidates is a devious game. Because to say CHP is to say DEM."

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli spoke at the opening ceremony of his party's "Voter Communication Center" in Ankara.

Targeting the opposition, Bahçeli said, "Today's CHP has fallen into the hands of the PKK."

"Where is Atatürk's CHP, and where is today's CHP?" asked Bahçeli, adding, "It is the CHP that approves of a terror state. It is the CHP that tries to bring people affiliated with terrorist organizations into the municipality. It is the CHP that wants to bargain with the DEM supporters and hand over the municipalities."

Regarding the March 31 local elections, Bahçeli stated, "We call for a strong legislature, a decisive executive, and a harmonious municipality."

"NOMINATING SEPARATE CANDIDATES IS A DEVIOUS GAME"

Evaluating the DEM Party's decision to field a candidate for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Bahçeli said, "The 'DEM-infused' CHP is chaotic and full of infighting. The fact that the CHP and DEM are nominating separate candidates is a devious game. Because to say CHP is to say DEM."

Highlights from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's speech are as follows:

"Our nation will surely hold those who divert municipal resources to intra-party power struggles accountable. When we say we will do something, we do it; when we have done it, we certainly do it. We will not tire of working. We are the MHP, embracing a 55-year history.

We call for a strong legislature, a decisive executive, and a harmonious municipality.

To us, the address and foundation of reconciliation are the trusts of the capital, Ankara. There is no problem we cannot overcome. There is no place we can reach by constantly procrastinating. We cannot allow those who want to drag Turkey into an abyss.

In the life of the state, discordant voices have ceased, decision-making processes have been streamlined, and the water supply of the bureaucratic oligarchy has been cut off.

The Presidential Government System is not something temporary.

The 'DEM-infused' CHP is chaotic and full of infighting. The fact that the CHP and DEM are nominating separate candidates is a devious game. Because to say CHP is to say DEM.

The place and address of an idealist (Ülkücü) are clear. That is the MHP. It is impossible to be both 'DEM-infused' and a nationalist.

My brothers and sisters who vote for the CHP, do not be misled. Today's CHP has fallen into the hands of the PKK. Where is Atatürk's CHP, and where is today's CHP? It is the CHP that approves of a terror state. It is the CHP that tries to bring people affiliated with terrorist organizations into the municipality. It is the CHP that wants to bargain with the DEM supporters and hand over the municipalities."
