MHP Secretary General İsmet Büyükataman made assessments regarding the process the government calls "Terror-Free Turkey" during his speech at his party's 15th Ordinary Bursa Provincial Congress.

Stating that the process began with the statements of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, Büyükataman argued that "significant thresholds have been crossed" within approximately two years. Büyükataman stated that Turkey has strengthened its internal front and that a new phase has been entered against the threat of terrorism in the region.

Claiming that an "important stage has been reached" with the process of dissolving the SDG/YPG, Büyükataman said, "As a result of our goals for a Terror-Free Turkey and a Terror-Free Region, the swamp of terrorism is being drained, and the climate of instability in our region is nearing its end."

CRITICISM OF NATIONALIST PARTIES

Targeting nationalist parties that oppose the process in his speech, Büyükataman said that these circles have put forward claims such as "a project of division," "the first 4 articles of the Constitution will be changed," and "there is bargaining with terrorism."

Using the phrase "political extension of the terrorist organization" for the DEM Party, Büyükataman attacked the opposition with the following words:

"We ask, weren't you the ones who formed alliances and engaged in cooperation with the political extension of the terrorist organization in the 2019 local elections, the 2023 Presidential elections, the 2024 local elections, and the April 16, 2017 referendum?"

Büyükataman also labeled the discussions regarding the first 4 articles of the Constitution as "lies." Arguing that these claims are "black propaganda," Büyükataman directed his criticisms at the İYİ Party and political circles close to it.

MHP Bursa Deputy Fevzi Zırhlıoğlu also gave a speech at the congress, where a message from MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli was read. At the congress, Mehmet Emin Özcanbaz was elected provincial chairman, taking over the position from Muhammet Tekin.
