While opposition calls for early elections continue, a notable statement has come from MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir, a partner of the AKP.
In response to the demand for early elections, Özdemir stated that they do not foresee this option and that an early election under current conditions is not a healthy solution.
Participating in the Anatolian Conversations program organized by the Anatolian Broadcasters Federation, MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir addressed the early election agenda by evaluating Turkey's international and regional situation.
WE DO NOT FORESEE IT, WE DO NOT EXPECT IT
Özdemir used the following expressions in his statements:
“There is a very serious war environment to our south and north. It is unclear what will happen with Balkan politics tomorrow. Turkey must be prepared for every scenario. The resolution of the grain crisis between Russia and Ukraine, the diplomatic initiatives we have displayed regarding the Israel-Palestine issue, acting as an arbitrator to resolve the crisis between Ethiopia and Somalia, the agreement reached with Iraq on counter-terrorism… These are very important steps, valuable things. While all these gains exist, and international politics has become this chaotic, saying ‘Let’s hold an election’ is not a healthy endeavor. We do not foresee it, we do not expect it.”

Özdemir emphasized that new political scenarios are being encountered globally and highlighted the importance of Turkey maintaining its stability in this region full of crises. He argued that the establishment of political stability under the leadership of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is critical for strengthening Turkey's potential.
İsmail Özdemir stated that the current international and regional situation demonstrates that the demand for an early election is not a healthy approach.
