MHP's welfare share move: They made a request for the new year

Speaking during the deliberations at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) Planning and Budget Committee, MHP Deputy Chairman Mustafa Kalaycı stated that it would be appropriate to provide a welfare share to retirees and public employees in addition to the January 2026 raise.

As the 2026 budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security continues to be discussed at the Turkish Grand National Assembly Planning and Budget Committee, a notable call has come from the MHP. MHP Deputy Chairman and Konya MP Mustafa Kalaycı shared his party's view that an additional increase should be made to the salaries of retirees and public employees in January 2026, on top of the planned adjustments.

“IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE TO PROVIDE AN ADDITIONAL WELFARE SHARE IN JANUARY”

In his speech at the committee, Kalaycı expressed the MHP's stance regarding salary increases with the following words:

“The MHP is of the opinion that it would be appropriate to provide an additional welfare share within the framework of budget possibilities during the increase to be made to the salaries of retirees and public employees in January.”

EMPHASIS ON REFORM FOR THE LABOR MARKET

In his speech, Kalaycı also made assessments regarding the labor market and stated that a fundamental reform should be carried out in working life. He conveyed the MHP's approach on this issue with the following words:

“The Nationalist Movement Party is of the opinion that a fundamental reform should be carried out regarding the labor market and working life in our country. We envision the creation of an efficient labor market where decent job opportunities are offered to all segments of society, the quality of the workforce is increased and used effectively, the wage-productivity relationship is strengthened, and occupational health and safety conditions are improved and effectively supervised.”
