MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli’s handshake with DEM Party members at the opening of the new legislative session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and the subsequent statements continue to remain a hot topic on the political agenda.
While questions such as "Will a new solution process begin?" are seeking answers, MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız made notable remarks on the subject.
"THE VALUE OF THE CALL MUST BE RECOGNIZED"
Feti Yıldız, MHP Deputy Chairman in charge of Legal and Election Affairs, spoke to Hilal Köylü from Serbestiyet.
"Our chairman stated that the priority in the Century of Turkey is to eliminate terrorism and eradicate the scourge of separatism. There is no part of this to be misunderstood. He said, -Let us carry our burden together, let us increase our work together. Let us multiply our peace and security hand in hand.- These are tremendous words," said Yıldız, continuing as follows:
'SHALLOW INTERPRETATIONS IN OUR VIEW'
"In this period we have reached, the value of these words and this call should be recognized by all opposition parties. Interpretations that pull this in one direction, such as -it is being done for the constitution, for the elections-, are very shallow interpretations in our view. Terrorism and separatism have drained Turkey's energy for 40 years. It is a shame, it is a sin. This issue is very, very important."
IS THE GROUND FOR MUTUAL DIALOGUE WITH DEM READY?
Feti Yıldız responded to the question, "So, is the ground for mutual dialogue with DEM ready? Will this dialogue bring a solution process with it?" as follows:
"Yes, steps need to be taken. DEM needs to get rid of the scourge of terrorism and their tutelage. Frankly, it needs to be liberated. Once they become a party of Turkey, it can be discussed. The only condition is that they rid themselves of the scourge of terrorism and separatism. We say that everything else is easy after that."
