MHP's İsmail Özdemir makes a highly discussed claim about Syria: 'The Mehmetçik and Israeli elements...'

MHP Deputy Chairman and Kayseri MP İsmail Özdemir made striking assessments regarding Israel's activities in Syria. Speaking to TV100, Özdemir emphasized that Israel's advance in the region in line with the "Greater Israel" project is unacceptable.

Özdemir stated that Israel's attacks in Syria and their approach toward the Turkish border create a dangerous situation. He used the following expressions in his statement:

"Israel's purpose and goal is to establish Greater Israel. For the same reason, we see that Israel is also physically advancing in Syria. Turkey defends the territorial integrity of Syria. No foreign power should exist in the Syrian theater."

'THE MEHMETÇİK COULD COME FACE TO FACE WITH ISRAELI ELEMENTS'

Özdemir stated that if Israel's advance continues, it will become inevitable for Turkey's military elements to come face to face with Israel, and continued his words as follows:

"If Israel's attacks continue into areas 20-30 kilometers from the Turkish border, it becomes inevitable for the Mehmetçik to come face to face with Israeli elements. For this reason, rules of engagement with Israel must be determined."

'TURKEY DEFENDS SYRIA'S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY'

MHP's Özdemir stated that Turkey's stance in Syria is clear and concluded his words as follows: 

"Turkey defends the territorial integrity of Syria. This occupation attempt by Israel is unacceptable. Cooperation should also be made with the Syrian regime, and a regional strategy should be formed against Israel's advance."
